Bailey Medical Fund
Donation protected
My name is Ray Mathis. I am Baileys dad. A family member suggested I use gofundme as a way to offset some of the medical expenses related to Baileys treatments. They wanted to help in some way and said this is a way they have been able to help others easily and discreetly. Those who know me asking for help is not in my nature. This is for Bailey.
The story:
Bailey is a Junior at the University of Arkansas (WPS!). Over the past 3-5 years there have been many small symptoms that something was not quite right physically. In early 2015 Bailey began having random fainting spells. In August 2015 Bailey called us from college stating that her ankles were sore and she was having a hard time both walking to class and driving. This quickly got worse and in September we brought her to DFW and began multiple testing. Her major joints had become so sore that a wheelchair was now required to move any increased distance or something as simple as going to the grocery store. Through rigorous testing over the next months Bailey has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. Over the past 11 months we have seen numerous doctors and tried many protocols for treatment. Many of the medicines and treatments are unfortunately not covered by insurance. Currently we are perusing a prescribed treatment (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) which has a cost of $7500. This is where she could use everybody's help. Me and her mom are certainly prepared to pay whatever is necessary to return Bailey to her former self but nobody prepares for such a financial burden. All monies donated will be directly used to offset this expense. We know with what we have already spent and the cost of this therapy, it will be well over the $7500 goal, but any amount will help. These treatments have to be paid up front, so donations would be appreciated as soon as you are able.
We know God will provide and his glory will shine through this trial regardless if of the donations provided. We are fortunate to have found a Lyme specialist in Arlington that continues to provide hope that over time and treatment Bailey will be cured. Sabra and I want to thank everybody in advance for any donations and wether you are able to donate or not, please pray for Bailey and her healing. Currently except when she is going to therapy or Doctor she spends her entire day in bed. Not the life of a 21 year old.
