Summer Arts Abroad

Family and friends,

Not sure if many of you know, but this Summer I will be dancing and training in a program abroad in Berlin, Germany. I am so excited for this opportunity, and as someone who grew up only dreaming about the days I would not only be able to travel, but be able to go after my passion for dance, this is so surreal that I get the opportunity to do both. 

I am also a student in the areas of Pre-Engineering, Psychology, and Film. The past few months I have been trying to brainstorm how I could do this amazing program, yet use this opportunity to help inspire others at the same time ( which is a HUGE passion of mine). Then a big light bulb appeared.

I traveled to Florence, Italy last summer and I enjoyed it so much,  but the biggest thing I wish I did was share my journey with others, and I'm not only talking about the travel aspect. I learned so much about myself, life and about the world all in my time there; and that experience changed my life. I had very rough patches and very beautiful moments at the same time, and I am comfortable with letting people into those moments in hope to serve as an inspiration and comfort. I know how blessed I am to be able to experience opportunities like this, growing up I never thought it was possible, they were just fantasies I dreamt about to keep pushing forward.

So while I am in Berlin, I want to document my journey. I want to inspire, I want to give people hope, I want to help people on their journey. Whether you want to travel, be a dancer, live a fulfilled life, or be at peace and happy. Whether you think things are impossible because no one has believed in you, guided you, or showed you that you aren't alone. Dancing is my first love, it's the thing that picks me up everytime I feel like falling, it has taught me so much about who I am. Travel inspires me, engaging with different cultures, stepping out of my comfort zone and exploring unknown territories has given me so much perspective ... I want to share those moments.

 I will be filming my dance journey, my interactions with people while abroad, things that inspire me, motivational talks on self-love/ self-journey, being immersed in a new culture and atmosphere and any other request and ideas that people have. More than anything I will be honest in these videos, trying to capture not only the happy good moments that come from pursuing a passion and traveling abroad, but the tough and uncomfortable moments as well. I think we sugar coat traveling abroad and pursuing passions a bit too much, to the point that people think if it's not all easy and beautiful then it's not right or worth it. I want to show the ups and downs to exhibit that both good and bad experiences work together perfectly to makes us who we are. 

I would like to go on alot of adventures and take you with me! Especially those who might dream of traveling and can not at this time, we will be traveling together!

 I get nervous when it comes to asking for help, but I want to shout out Ashley Land for inspiring me to do this and reach out <3.  I think this is very important to do, and this is something I have truly wanted to do for YEARS, I just stalled, but I think now is the most perfect time.  I am very excited to be able to share with everyone, and I truly hope in one way or another this makes someone smile and feel inspired! If all goes well, I am hoping to take this project beyond Berlin and make this a regular thing!
