Evan McKinney, the sweetest 2-year-old little boy, together with the support of his family and many friends has entered a challenging and comprehensive course of cancer therapy. It began on Tuesday, August 10 when they removed his kidney and a softball sized tumor. He was diagnosed with clear cell sarcoma, an extremely rare type of kidney cancer.


This summer has been filled with extreme highs and lows for the McKinney family. On June 24th Evan became a big brother when he welcomed home his little sister Madison from the hospital. However, fresh off the new addition of Madison to their family they were met with Evan’s disheartening diagnosis and the reality of significant medical, transportation, and living expenses. 



My cousin Colleen, and her husband Mike, are incredible parents. They do everything for their children and both work full-time to support their family. However, the combination of caring for a newborn and Mike and Colleen having to miss a great deal work to be with Evan during his chemo treatments, will inescapably stretch them thin financially.

 As a family and community we are rallying together to support #teamtoddlershark in their fight against Evan’s kidney cancer. Right now financial support is the most substantial burden, but your thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement are also needed. We hope this fund can help relieve some of the anxiety and financial costs that comes with Evan’s treatment this next year. A sincere thank you from Colleen, Mike, Evan, and baby Madison.
