Triten's Fight

Triten is a 16 year old boy who has faced many challenges from the time he was born. He has had multiple surgeries and various illnesses. When he was only 10 years old he underwent a kidney transplant. He overcame several difficulties with that procedure. Since then he has had other medical issues and fought through them as well. Currently he is in the care of Sandford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls. He was admitted into the hospital on August 2nd.  He was transferred to the ICU and needs a ventilator to assist him in breathing.  Triten was diagnosed with West Nile Meningitis, which means that he contracted West Nile which then caused him to develop Meningitis. He also has pneumonia and was put on an antibiotic to treat that. Unfortunately, West Nile Meningitis is a viral infection which means that there are no medicines they can give to him and he will have to fight it off on his own. Due to having a kidney transplant, Triten is immunosuppressed, which means he will have a harder time fighting off this infection than other kids his age. The Doctors are unsure of how long they will be in the hospital and think that Triten will require rehab. His mother, Jessica, is right next to him willing him to fight this; as she always has been. Meaning  Triten is very ill, Jessica is unable to work at this time and will be out of work until he has recovered. She will be staying in Sioux Falls with him until the both of them can return together. Afterward, there will be numerous appointments for follow up along with expenses of travel. We are asking if you can spare any amount to donate to Triten's Fight. There is no amount too small as any amount helps to take some of the financial burden away.
