While giving a hug to his 2 year old son on the afternoon of February 24th, Shawn noticed a lump coming from the side area of his little Ben. 4 hours later Ben was diagnosed with having an 11 cm cancerous tumor on his Kidney. 3 days later the Doctors performed an 8 hour surgery successfully removing the kidney however it was discovered that the tumor had ruptured so there is still the chance the cancer has spread. The Doctors won't know if it has spread for some time but we do know Ben will undergo months of chemotherapy and radiation. While the Rutherford family cares for Ben we can all help with the burden of medical costs by donating here. I know the Rutherford's are truly appreciate of all the love, support and prayers that has come their way and will continue to come their way.
