If you know Angela Burris, you know that she is one of the most amazing, generous and friendly people you will ever meet. She is an awesome Co-Pastor and Worship leader at Emmanuel light of the World in College Park, Ga and a hardworking administrator at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Ga. She is a loving mother to our two semi-adult children and the most amazing wife to me. And if you know Angela, your heart is also aching right now after hearing the news of the recent stroke that caused paralysis of her entire left side.
Angela was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes several years ago, which has been the cause of other health challenges in her kidneys, blood pressure, mobility of her left arm, and constant swelling in her legs throughout the years. She was admitted into the hospital July 11th 2016 with what she thought was the flu but was later informed that her blood sugar level was extremely high. She was dismissed from the hospital prematurely and the very next day while sitting at home, had a major stroke leaving the entire left side of her body paralyzed which also caused slurred speech.
Angela has spent the last several weeks in the hospital recovering. By the grace of God, Angela has gained mobility of her left leg, her kidneys are function well, her speech has improved greatly. We have been in constant prayer for my wife and God has truly been faithful! She is improving every single day!!!! Her expected recovery time frame with physical therapy is 6-12 months, but we believe that God will shorten that time frame! My wife is unable to work right now and caring for her requires 24 hours a day attention. She no longer has health insurance through her job and we have been forced to pay it out of pocket, which has been very costly. Her medical bills are stacking up and she has a number of other expenses as she recovers.
All of the money raised will be used for Angela's medical bills, insurance and some living expenses as she recovers. Angela is such an amazing person, and any amount you can give will help immensely after what she has been through. With the encouragement and friendship Angela has given to all of us, I pray you all can band together to return the blessing to our family.
