Scam Victim Trying To Recuperate

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Shenny and I found out today that I fell victim to an email scam. Honestly, this is really hard for me because anyone that really knows me, knows how hard it is for me to ask for support but I am putting my pride aside and asking for $1,600 of the money that I owe to the bank.

I am a veteran waiting to start college at San Diego State University. I have been doing small jobs like cleaning apartments and mystery shopping to keep myself afloat financially from here until I start school.

I received a text from the scammers who pretended to be shadowshopper.com and because all my previous job offers through them have been legitimate, I didn't think twice to accept the job offer.

IT WAS A SCAM

I feel so dumb for not having seen all the red flags and it's a strike to my ego because, for the most part, I am very vigilant about these sort of things. However, I was indeed vulnerable due to my need of money so I went for it.

The "job" I was offered was to "evaluate" the Walmart MoneyGram service. They sent me a check overnight through FedEx and then told me to deposit it. Once deposited I was to then use that money towards the MoneyGram service and therefore give my "feedback" on the service, staff and experience as I would with any other mystery shop.

The bank won't refund the money because I deposited the fraudulent check and then sent a money order before it was cleared so the bank views it as my responsibility and not as fraud. I have 30 days to pay the amount back before they block my bank account.

All the money received will be used to pay back the bank. This would mean a lot to me because these people literally took money I didn't even have to begin with. I'm trying to pay this all off before my rent is due in 2 weeks. My only source of income is my disability and that only covers my rent. I'm scared because I do not want the bank to use my disability towards paying this amount off. I will have nothing to pay my rent.

My family and friends don't really know the full extent of my financial struggle because again, I've been too prideful to speak out but this I can't do on my own. This occurred when I have my credit card maxed out, nothing in my savings and already used my $500 credit line that is attached to my checking account. I'm already embarrassed that I asked my father for $300 this month. I'm really in rock bottom because of this.

Please, anything helps and I will pray that you all receive back the blessings you give me in ten folds.
