Hello Family & Friends! Some of you already know my uncle Bo has been fighting Pancreatic Cancer. My Mom & I are grateful for all your prayers and support. With heavy hearts, we are reaching out again today in need of help. My mom & I have started a GoFundMe campaign for him. He has been unable to work & has had no income for the past 9 months. He applied for disability & was denied. He then appealed this denial to be denied again!
Here is a little history of the past six months for him: In Feb 2016 he was diagnosed with stage 2 Pancreatic Cancer. For those who are not familiar with this type of cancer it is very aggressive and there is no cure. Doctors at UCSF advised a very invasive surgery called the "Whipple" surgery. They were very optimistic this surgery would prolong his life span. He had the procedure and the following two months were filled with several speed bumps on his road to recovery. He pulled through it like a champ and all in all he was feeling pretty well. A round of chemo was also advised after the surgery. A CT scan was performed in July prior to Chemo that showed two small lesions on his liver. The oncologist advised that the chemo treatments would take care of these small lesions. After completing 2 chemo treatments his liver began to fail and he became very ill. He was then admitted back in the hospital. We learned that his liver can't process the chemo and that is no longer a treatment option. We also have been informed that he now has stage 4 liver cancer! Yep, you heard that right. In 29 days, these 2 small lesions have more than quadrupled! His liver now has multiple masses for which there are NO treatment options. The doctors have advised us to get hospice set up for him to make him comfortable for his remaining time here. As if this has not been enough to swallow, he has been struggling to eat and survive with no money. This is heartbreaking to us to know he has dealt with all of this and has been stressed about money too. We are asking for your help in hopes to ease this one stress from him. It feels completely insane to us that he should have to worry about paying the rent and eating at a time like this. No donation is too small & we greatly appreciate every penny.
