Support a Family Displaced by Hurricane Helene

As many of you know, the last few days have been incredibly heartbreaking. Hurricane Helene tore through Florida and with it my family’s home. For the first time in 55 years, we had water in the home, about 4 feet of it. I flew down to try and help my dad and brothers save the house, but as of yesterday, I failed to do so. Mold and extensive water damage took hold. We spent the day throwing out everything they had, from every picture my mom saved to every bit of furniture. It is a total loss.
I’m trying to get them off the island into temporary housing until they can sell the land and move on. They lost both cars in the flood as well, and it’s making it more difficult. I’m only in town a few days and have hopes to move them out ASAP and away from the mold and conditions. I’ve had a few close family friends come to the rescue to get them and our 3 golden retrievers out of the house. It’s been very difficult, but I may have found a temporary solution. If anyone can help, I would be forever grateful. They did not have insurance as it cost more than my dad makes off social security. They will have to sell the land asap.
