Hi All
My name is Mathew Fraser and I am a Firefighter with Fire Rescue NSW and I have started this fundraising campaign to help out a work mate and his family...Chris Fuller, his wife Sharon and two daughters Jessica 13 and Ashley 11.
Chris and I work together at Regentville Fire Station in Western Sydney. Chris has been a dedicated Firefighter for 10 years and given his all to his profession.
Unfortunately 12 months ago Chris was given some bad news...
After a head knock playing soccer Chris was concussed and started having dizzy spells...
We were concerned at work as we all started to notice that Chris wasn't behaving like his usual self...
After a trip to the Doctors and a couple of scans Chris and Sharon were given the devastating news that he had an aggressive brain tumor the size of a golf ball that had to be removed immediately...
In the past 12 months Chris has been fighting as hard as possible through the debilitating treatment plans but unfortunately the tumor returned and had to be removed again earlier this year...
It was during this second brain surgery that Chris contracted Meningitis which has made the recovery process so much harder...Again Chris has fought on as best he could against terrible odds...
Myself and the crew at Regentville FS have felt helpless throughtout this time and, as people that are trained to help others when they need you the most, its been very difficult to see Chris and his family have to go through this situation...
This is why we have started this campaign...to try and help our colleague and mate. We want to help secure Chris' familys' future and to assist in reducing the burden of ongoing medical expenses...
We are holding a fundraising night in early October and are reaching out to everyone to help us help one of our own.
Our aim is to raise money through donations in the hope of reducing the financial stress and worry of ongoing medical costs at a time when Chris needs to be focused on his recovery and spending quality time with his family.
Any donation ...big or small...will be greatly appreciated by Chris, his family and friends.
