Jeff Poretsky's Medical Emergency

Jeff Poretsky was hit by a car while commuting to work on his bicycle on Thursday, August 4, 2016. His bike was totaled, and Jeff is in the hospital with brain trauma and injuries to his shoulder and leg. He recovered well from surgery and is back to his snarky self, aside from short-term memory issues. He is currently in rehabilitative physical therapy, and will likely be in rehab for months to come. He says he really can't wait to attempt to bike again.

Jeff is the sole financial support for his family of four and the laws in Maryland favor car drivers in all accidents. If you know him or know his family, and can donate, they could really use some support right now.

GoFundMe charges a 5% fee to have a cause posted to their site, but the remaining funds will go directly to the Poretsky family. We will all be immensely grateful for anything that you can give. We are trying to help out a friend of ours who is in need.

Jeff is so thankful for the help, and is really unhappy  to be asking for more. However the last month has had the benefits reduced dramatically. While he is in the process of returning to work full time, the insurance company has paid all it seems to want to, and there are thousands of dollars in medical bills still outstanding.
