Sara's Thanks

I anticipated this child for months, like every mother does. I talked to her, sang to her, promised her a safe and loving world once she is ready to come into it. Sara was born, via emergency cesarian, on March 22nd 2016. The moment she gasped for air, they rushed her away from me into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for observation due to difficulties in breathing. What was suppose to be a few hours of observation, turned into 29 days of living in a nightmare. The doctors sat my husband and I down and told us they will do everything it takes to save my little girl. And that they did. Those doctors became our heroes, those nurses our friends. Advocate Lutheran General Hospital became our home. They not only provided us with a room so we are near our daughter 24/7, with towels, sheets, hygiene, counsellors, lactation nurses, pumping machines and bottles, clothes and support groups, but those doctors and nurses provided us a shoulder, they gave us hope and showered us with optimism. Sara was a few steps from me, at all time and We didn't pay a dime for our stay near our daughter.Thanks to earlier donations, the hospital was able to provide that luxury for us during this difficult time. We promised ourselves, once we take our baby girl home, We will make sure We pay them back, in any way we know how. Your donation will go directly to the Advocate Lutheran General NICU. It will help support all families going through what we went through. It will help the NICU continue providing the care and support to those families.
