Hello everyone! My name is Darren J Sanders Jr and I am a photographer and videographer from the Southside of Chicago, Illinois. In the past 3 years, I have been blessed to buy my own camera and find my way into organizations like The Chicago Track and Free Spirit Media who afforded me workshops, trainings, and jobs on multiple sets. Through these opportunities I was placed in front of the right people who pointed me towards the International Cinematographers Guild, or more commonly known as Local 600. I believe it is important for me to make this next step because in joining Local 600 I will have health benefits, contract security, and opportunities on Film and TV sets that were not available before. With these opportunities, I plan to excel at my job and continue advancing my knowledge and skill set while becoming a vessel to help other filmmakers of color get to these same places I have been blessed to reach. Eventually, I want to own my own production company to provide our communities with hundreds of other jobs and knowledge; joining the union will be a huge step into making that dream so much more attainable. Any money donated will be used solely to fund my initiation fees, processing fees, quarterly dues and gifts to donors. Anyone who donates $19 or less will receive a free 8x6 photo print of any of my work, $20 to $49 will receive a 30min photoshoot, $50 to $74 a 1hour photoshoot, $75 to $100 a 1hr photoshoot and 30sec edited video. Anyone who donates $100 to $499 will have up to a 2hr photoshoot, 60sec edited video and a free 8x10 print from the photoshoot. If you donate $500+ you have the choice of (1) 3hour photoshoot and a 60sec video shoot or the choice to break it up into (3) 1hour photoshoots and a 60sec edited video. All of those will be redeemable at the time of your choice as long as I have the availability.
