Funding for Denise Monson

Life has twists and turns and ups and downs and just when you think things are going great a struggle hits. Denise (Maruska) Monson is a mother, a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, an aunt, a friend, a chef, a giver and many other things. She fits in with so many groups. She has now joined a group of other women that share her struggles with breast cancer and after the fight she will join another group, the survivors!
Denise had discovered a lump in her right breast in June and went to see her doctor. Her doctor eminently set her to have a mammogram. The results of the mammogram showed a lot of suspicious crystallizations. From that mammogram she was scheduled to have a biopsy. On June 22nd she received the dreaded call from her doctor, her results were in. Denise was told she had grade three invasive ductal carcinoma (Stage 3 breast cancer) with lymph vascular invasion.
Denise then would go to Oncologists, a surgeon and radiologist oncologist. After MRI and a PETCT scan to check to see if the cancer was spreading a plan was devised. Her chemo plan was set up, due to the tumor being too large to remove Chemo is her first step in her long journey. She started chemo on June 29th and must go in every 2 weeks to have chemo to shrink the tumor. Her last day of Chemo is set for September 28th if there is no growth of the tumor and it shrinks enough to remove. Her doctors are very hopefully this will be successful!
Her battle will not end there, she has much to do. After the Chemo she will have two weeks before her mastectomy, she is juggling the idea now if it will be a double. After the surgery she will need a few more weeks to recover and then its radiation time. The radiation will last for six weeks to remove all the cancer.
Along with all the doctoring Denise still is a mother and wife. Cody and Denise live in Bismarck, ND and both are chefs at the same restaurant. Denise still goes in and does what she can but it’s very hard when she’s not feeling well and her body needs to rest. She also has to take care of her home and the kids; her three beautiful blessings Ashlynn the preteen soccer player, Brolin the chatty karate kid and Diem miss sweet sassy pants.
Cody and Denise do have medical insurance but their medical bills are already over $6000.00 after insurance and Denise has just began her fight. Please donate to help this wonderful family. We would like to have all funds in by October 1, 2016.
