On Friday, April 15, 2016, a two alarm fire at the Twin Pines Manor Apartments in Sunnyvale, Ca. caused significant heat, smoke and water damage, making all 81 units within the complex uninhabitable. 110 residents were affected; at least 50 are immediately in need of shelter and provisions.
With the help of the American Red Cross, the City of Sunnyvale is housing families at the Senior Center this weekend until more permanent shelter can be established.
Cash donations received through this campaign, minus gofundme's administrative fees, will be administered by the City and dispersed to the families through Sunnyvale Community Services.
Sunnyvale Community Services is accepting food, new clothing, gift cards, or financial donations for the victims of the fire. Donations can be dropped off at 725 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale.
Alternatively, donations can be made online to the American Red Cross, select donate funds and disaster relief, and dedicate the donation in honor of Twin Pines Manor Apartments - Sunnyvale. Donations made to the American Red Cross will support the emergency services provided by the ARC for temporary housing and personal needs.
