Jer "The Coach" Hartley

Jer “The Coach” Hartley was to many of us the biggest ray of sunshine that ever entered your life and the news of his passing has been devastating. Jer has touched many of our lives in different ways, his positive energy was contagious, so captivating, so entertaining, so attentive to everyone in his surroundings. He made people feel at ease with his witty sense of humor in that hoarse voice that some thought he sound like a phone sex operator while others thought Ed the Sock. He was polite, gentle, loving…true romantic at heart. He had the best jokes, one liners, but most of all the best hugs. He would give the shirt of his back for you….that’s if he was wearing a shirt that day. As secretary treasurer of his Fan Club, funerals cost an average of $8000 - $10,000 and you may know that they Hartley family has seen some hardship with illness last couple of years, I feel as Jer’s friend that I truly would do what he would do for me and to help look after his family. I understand that we all have struggles and the economy these days have not helped.
However I challenge you in a creative Jer way to contribute to his family by:
- cashing in all your empties from the bevies you are cheering to Jer’s life
- donating your weekly gas money, leave your car in the drive way, walk, bike, skateboard, red wagon, scooter for a week. Don’t have a bike, look into your neighbours yard and “ borrow one”
- have a Kool Aid stand this weekend, up sale and put booze in it
- don’t order take out or eat out for a week, open your cupboard and make a cupboard buffet of what ever you have…..KD, can of beans, Spam, Lipton Chicken Noodle soup and that canned fruit or vegetable that your aunt canned for you. Jer could make a gourmet meal out of any ingredient in the house.
- Have a garage sale this weekend, too lazy well just open up the doors and call it the Dollar Garage, everything is a dollar plus it helps clean out your closet
- Ladies, sell your worn underwear online, seriously you can make quick good cash, Jer texted me actual results

- Ask your Sugar Daddy or Mommy for extra allowance this week or better yet just donate your whole allowance
- Trust fund babies, your parents will be touched that you are asking for a donation to help an amazing family
- Pawn your valuables that you no longer use, or better yet pawn your ex’s or siblings stuff
- Instead of sending flowers to the family, send cash
- Roll your change, heck you don’t need those pennies anymore, don’t forget to check jacket pockets for those golden finds of $5 and your couches from all the times your buddies crashed on it that their loose change jingled out.

Jer had no life insurance or any kind of insurance so this is a financial burden to his family. So let’s do what Jer would do and help his family. Any amount would help, whether it is $10 or more. Thank you in advance for considering. Jer brought many of us together, so lets come together to assist the financial burden of burial and let his family just grieve.

The money will be used for the following:
- funeral arragements, expenses and other costs associated with his death.
- would like to donate a percentage to a charity of the family's choosing related to supporting mental health
