To Whom It May Concern With A Caring Heart

My name is Mike Parrish. I am 46 years ago. I was born in Burlington Iowa. My wifes name is Wendy Parrish/ maiden name Leffler. She ws also born in Burlington Iowa. She is 45. We have been together since she was 15 and I was 16. 30 wonderful years. 15 years ago I lost my father and 30 days later while we were in Hot Springs Arkansas Wendy's mother passed away. So we decided to move to Hot Springs Arkansas so I could be with my mom and sister. For the last 10 years I have worked for a concrete company Richens Concrete. My wife has worked for a retail store Freds for 10 years. Life has been wonderful beyond words. Then tragedy struck, I came home from work and found my wife laying on the floor in excruciating pain on her right side. So I picked her up and raced her to St. Vincent Hospital. For three and a half hours we waited in the emergency room. Finally they got her in the E.R. observation room and said its probably her appendix. So they ran some blood test and her white blood cell count was sky high leading to more tests. Finally the E.R. doctor came in and sat down across from me with my wife laying in between us on the bed. I could tell bythe  look on his face my world was about to be turned upside down and i was right. He said she has a huge mass on her right side. It looks like cancer and its spreading to her liver. I was in shock sweat, pouring out of me. I threw up on the floor and looked at my wife. All she could say was oh my God my daughter and thats all she could repeat. It was the worst thing anyone has ever said to me since the death of my father. He said it was really serious but wanted to do more test to be positive. Then a couple of hours later they said it may just be an abscess. It did turn out to be a huge abscess that tested positive for ovarian cancer. The damage was so bad it destroyed her fallopian tubes. It was pressed up against her kidney and completely stuck to her gallbladder. So they had to race her into emergency surgery which took five surgeons and eight hours where they removed the abscess and performed a hysterectomy. She spent the next thirteen days in the hospital and she was finally released on August 3rd. Starting August 8th we will be going to UAMS in Little Rock Arkansas to start the cancer treatment. We both have great insurance Blue Cross and Blue Shield plus the hospital gave us an extra 10 percent bringing it to a total of 90 percent. The problem is the insurance does not cover our household bills. My wife will get long term disability and aflac but that will not come close to paying the bills and my job is if I don't work I don't get paid. I have already missed two weeks of work and I stayed by my wife's side since day one through all of this besides running home in the early parts of the morning to check on things and take care of our little dog Gracie. This is our story so far. The hardest part of all of this is asking if there is anyone out there that knows me Michael Carl Parrish and Wendy Mae Parrish/ Leffler and are able or willing to help us through these hard and difficult times. I can not beginning to describe in words how grateful we would be. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and may God be will us through each and every day. I will post updates on her facebook page weekly.

Thank you once again.
Love,
Michael Carl Parrish aka Pearl
Wendy Mae Parrish/Leffler aka Wendall
