Hi everyone im Jocelyn,
This is some of my story 10 years ago this September I started having Seizures. Less than 12 months later and several trips to Royal London Hospital completing EEG's, bloods and many other tests.
I got diagnosed with Temporal and Frontal Lobe Epilepsy. To say this was a shock is an understatement as this came out of the blue, I was in complete denial at first and for a long time i was in my own bubble, I was embarrassed and didn't know how to cope with this diagnoses. With the support from my family, friends and Epilepsy Society helpline i started to understand.
Having this has been difficult accepting that I will not always remember conversations or events it affects my memory, trying to remember if I took my meds or not, speech sometimes, I've lost my driving licence a few times due to my seizures and my independence.
The recovery stage from a seizure can last hours or days its the sore head, confusion, sleepy, not even knowing what happened, trouble talking and slow to respond this is just some of the recovery.
I want to make a statement to embrace my condition
So on the 6th September 2025 I will be completing the 5K Nuclear Races Mud Tribe with some Friends and Family.
