Yoga Teacher Training Fund

Hey everyone! If anyone is unfamiliar, I'm Catherine. For those of you who have spoken to me in the past four years or so, you will have at least once heard me talk about how yoga has changed my life. Having done ballet for 15 years and working as an aerialist for 2, my body has been through the gambit of injuries -- fractures, tears, necroses, arthritis, and more. After four years of yoga, I can finally touch my toes again. I feel valued in my physical and spiritual self again. I feel strong and centered again. It has taken off my competitive edge (mostly) and helped me overcome countless dysmorphias about my body. This is what I want for everyone who experiences yoga; to feel valuable, confident, centered, and well, regardless of experience or background. 

Living in New York has its challenges, one of which is saving money. Between making rent, preparing to do my MFA next fall complete with the potential of moving, and trying to keep my savings above a flatline, a spare two thousand dollars or so is hard to come by. If I pay early enough (by the new year), the Yoga Vida 200-hour teacher training program in Manhattan is discounted to $2,500 for a 10-week certification, after which I can begin to teach! 

I've learned the hard way that I don't thrive in a corportate environment. I am planning on teaching yoga as a career during/after graduate school, unless of course I write a best seller, and then you can all have your money back. With these two things I love so much - writing and yoga - driving me, I believe I can make a fulfilling and whole life for myself. 

Anyone who helps will recive a free class (or more!) from me, whether in a group here in NYC, via video, or one-on-one -- whatever scheduling and circumstances allow :) My pride is swallowed. My heart already overflows with gratitude.
