Mary's Medical Costs
Donation protected
I am Mary's grandmother. Mary is a sweet young girl who likes kittens, to read, and play with Barbies. She is taking piano lessons and will play percussion in band when she enters 6th grade this year. She loves to play with her brother and sister and also all her cousins.
She started out on July 23 rd with what they thought was mild flue and it became so bad that they took her to the hospital. After two hopital transfers she is now at St Luke's in Boise. Her little body is trying to fight the poison of E-coli but it went into a condition called Hemolytic-uremic syndrome (or haemolytic-uraemic syndrome), abbreviated HUS, is a disease characterized by hemolytic anemia (anemia caused by destruction of red blood cells), acute kidney failure (uremia), and a low platelet count (thrombocytopenia). It predominantly, but not exclusively, affects children. Mary's is the result of the E-coli. Because of this condition she has been having dialysis. Today, August 3, her blood pressure has gone up. We are still being very vigilant in our prayers and fasting and appreciate so much all those who have joined us.
The medical costs of this hospital stay are mounting. It costs on an average between $2,000 to 3,000 per day. Steve and Katherine have sacrificed and worked hard to stay out of debt. When I first asked if they needed some financial help, they didn't know if they should. They relented and let me post this. They have insurance that will cover 80% but that still leaves a huge chunk of bills that will be remaining. It looks like Mary might be in the hospital for a long extended stay. It would be such a blessing if we could help them so they won't come out of this being in debt for a very long time.
They wanted me to express how blessed they have been by family and friends. She mentioned today how they can feel the prayers of so many carring people, and how thankful and so very grateful for everyone's support.
