Paul and Damian, one foot in front of the other, are taking on a mammoth walk to help children in Manchester with cancer.
We are pleased to announce, we will doing our annual fundraiser by walking Scarfell Pike, England's highest Mountain, for an initiative close to our hearts.
On Sunday the 27th of October 2024, we will be raising money for a wellbeing project, started by our close friend who’s son was diagnosed with cancer in 2022. Here is her story:
'In July 2022, my 8-year old son, Aaron, was diagnosed with Birkiitt’s lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system) and our world was completely rocked. Aaron had to have two rounds of chemotherapy and this was an awful time for our family, we just prayed he would be ok and turned to positivity and the healing power of crystals to help get us through. He was strong, positive, courageous and brave. We were the lucky ones and Aaron made a full recovery but many of the children at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital are not as lucky as we were.
When Aaron was having treatment, I would bring children crystals to help cheer them up and not only did they love them but their families also found them a comfort. The crystals helped the children with their mindset, they motivated them and they enjoyed having these ‘magical’ stones to support them on their journey. For this reason, I started ‘Crystals for Cancer’, this is an initiative where members of the public can donate crystals to be given to the children to help them and their families with their mental health, healing and positive outlook in their extremely challenging situation.'
We are hoping to raise money to buy some larger crystals to go into the family room which is currently cold and uninviting, for the children to have a positive, healing space to relax in and also a place where the heart-breaking news some families receive, is a more comforting, healing place.
