Dear friends and family,
As you may have already heard that on Thursday August 4th, 2016, I am scheduled to have a kidney transplant. I've been fortunate enough to have a kidney donated by my last, only surviving, immediate family member - my sister. I couldn't be more blessed.
Over the years, my health started to decline drastically and for the last two years, I’ve been undergoing dialysis, three times a week. I’m suffering from several illnesses such as diabetes, abnormal muscle pain, thyroid, neuropathy, arthritis, retinopathy, glaucoma, and an unfortunate renal failure. After trying all different medical treatments, my only last hope for survival is kidney transplant. This kidney transplant is a necessity not only to my health but for my family too. Many of you know me as the “eyebrow lady", but I’m also a dedicated homemaker and a mother of two children. I have been a loyal service provider to my clients in two different locations, and sometimes even during dialysis days. My sickness has cost me many good friends and clients because I could not give them my time. I love what I do and love to continue when my health allows me again.
I had given up on hope, even after listing myself as a kidney recipient in many hospitals. The wait is very long and dialysis is very painful. Nevertheless, I saw hope. Hope for life. Hope for better health. Hope for fulfilling my dreams. My sister offered to donate her kidney to me. I was indecisive whether to accept it or not, because I felt it was a huge sacrifice for her to make. However, at the end she convinced me, so that we can cherish our lives longer together. The love and bond we share is eternal. She underwent all the medical tests and was a perfect match for me. The surgery is set for August 4th, 2016.
With a very heavy heart, I am reaching out to all of you to help me in this difficult time. Our surgery and medical expenses are over $300,000. We would also require medical treatments post-surgery and your contribution would help in our financial hardship as well as a healthy recovery. I greatly appreciate your gesture from the bottom of my heart.
