We are the immediate family of Travis & Kaylah Tabert and their three boys and daughter Alannah (10yrs) Austin (4yrs), Carson (21 Months), and Dylan (6 Months).
We are sharing their story because this day changed all of our lives forever , it is important to us that they will all be taken care of now, in the short term, and for the rest of their lives. We also want to celebrate the life of the little baby boy in this story as he brought such joy.
This is our story... Travis and Kaylah knew each other when they were in High School but went their seperate ways out of school. About 11 years past and as fate would have it they found each other again and fell in love. Soon after their first son Austin Tanner was born, Austin was to be the first of three boys, as 2 years 6 months later Carson Laine blessed their family as the second boy. Things may have seemed to be calming down but not to be, as there was another blessing on the horizon. Travis and Kaylah knew by now they were ready to spend the rest of their lives together and a wedding was planned. On August 1, 2015 Travis and Kaylah alongside Alannah, Austin, Carson, and a little Dylan only 5 months away. The birth of baby Dylan on January 13, 2016 was to be Travis and Kaylahs last baby and their beautiful family was now complete. The past 6 months have brought Travis and Kaylah some of the most memorable times, challanging at times as one can only imagine. Kaylah has become a very loving, family first mother, she has been raising the boys on their farm in Hythe, Alberta while Travis has been working hard to provide for his family and takes great pride in his reputation as a top notch flooring installer.
This brings us to this past August long weekend 2016, just like so many other families, we had planned a big campout with all the kids and parents enjoying the lake, the hot weather, we fished, we swam, we played volleyball. Everything was how it was supposed to be, just like we had planned it, it was lunch time Saturday and already memories had been created and new bonds between children had been formed.
Tragically this is where our story became a nightmare we are all now trying to come to grips with. On Saturday July 30th 2016, just after lunch while down for his afternoon nap Travis and Kaylah lost their middle son Carson Laine in a freak accident.
Carson was a go go go kid always one step ahead. He had an infectious smile and the most beautiful (almost white) hair. He loved to run and play especially with his two brothers and sister. Carson got the most out of everyday he was with us and made an impression on all of us that knew him, and he will never be forgotten.
Sadly this was witnessed with more than 20 members of our family including the children in the yard at the time. Right now we are all still in shock and disbelief doing our best to support one another, but we all have a long road of healing ahead of us.
We are fundraising for Travis, Kaylah and their children:
1st- For the short term right now as there are expences that no parent should have to worry about so soon after such a traumatic loss, including wages lost while Travis takes time to grieve and take care of his wife, children and himself.
2nd- For any unforseen future hurdles over the course of the next year they may face in the wake of this tragic loss. We hope that for the next couple of years that your donations can help make things a bit less about money and more about spending time with family.
3rd- If there was more money raised for Travis and Kaylah than they would need they have expressed that they would like to put some of the money away for education for Alanna, Austin, and Dylan in Carsons name.
Our hope is that by reaching out for help in these difficult times, we can make a difference in the day to day life of Travis, Kaylah and their children as they will need time to heal. We equally are looking forward to the support offered by sending messages of support so they can see how many people care for them.
On behalf of Travis, Kaylah and both their families we thank you for your compassion, consideration and time to read our story. Thank You and we will continue to share pictures and videos as time goes by aswell as updates on how things are going with Travis, Kaylah and kids.
