Help Me Send My Mom Back to College
Donation protected
In 2007, my dad left me, my mom and my sister. We lost his income and it affected us emotionally. My mom still had her full time job, so it was ok. However, in 2012, my mom's job was cut to half-time, meaning she went from $50,000 a year to $17,000 a year. We had to go through bankruptcy and our house was foreclosed upon. My mom decided to go back to college and pursue a degree in something she had always wanted to do: music therapy(she already was a choir director and had her bachelors in Music Ed.). Music Therapy is a scientifically backed field and is proven to be one of the most effective treatments for disabled people, stroke patients, etc. It works, and in miraculous ways, when nothing else will. Alzheimer's patients who have forgotten everything will suddenly remember the lyrics to a song and sing it. It's amazing. My mom has finished her main classes, but she needs to take several general classes before she can do her 6 month internship and get board certified. My grandma, who has really supported financially since my dad left, has been in the hospital for a month and is not in a positon to continue helping my mom with the costs of school. She is so close and I don't want to see it all end here. I hope you would be willing to help. It would mean so much to my mom, and so much to me to see her happy again. If you can help, thank you so much and God bless you. If not, we understand and God bless you too! Thank you!
