Hey Everyone,
I left my job 4 years ago to attend Bikram Yoga Teacher training in California. It has always been my intetnion to have my own school. The past 4 years I have been at home with my son Louis during the days and teaching yoga nights and weekends almost every day. I wanted this time to be with Louis before he went to school.
Louis is 5 now and starts Kindergarten in September. My plan had been to start looking into opening a school while saving money. As it happens the opportunity came up to buy Bikram Yoga Harvard Square and take over in September. Right when Louis starts school!, which in itself is good timing because I can devote my time to the business. I wasn't prepared financially for owning a yoga school so soon but if I didn't say yes, the chance would have been gone. Sometimes oppourtunities come along and you just have to jump on them.
I love Bikram Yoga. I am working daily with students on their injuries, personal challenges and peace of mind. I get to experience and be a part of their transformation, and I am transormed in the process. I give my heart and soul to them and this practice and I get back tenfold, the love, the energy, the sweat!
Through loans and financing and the support of family and friends I was able to borrow enough money to buy the school. On top of just the sale though, there are so many more expenses (lease for the space, services, supplies, website, logo, etc.... list goes on and on).
I've got a month to put all the rest of this together. I dove off the cliff and I've been building my wings on the way, trusting that if I keep my focus, do the work, and give my heart to my passion, I'll fly and it will happen.
When I teach class I give my all. And I pledge to give my all to this commuinty, this school, and these students. Anything you can offer, large or small, is appreciated and will bring me one step closer to have my goal realized. I've got an opportunity to turn my dream into a reality.
