Hello All!
Many of you know the Moreno family and just how wonderful they are. Many of you also know Cali, their adorable, and also wonderful, furbaby. Cali is THE sweetest and cuddliest pup out there. She will never leave you unlicked or unloved. "She really is our baby girl" (Joanne).
Unfortunately, Cali and her family were separated early this fall when the Moreno's had to PCS to Fort Polk. This was due to COVID-19 and faults in the military travel system. Thankfully, Cali has been staying with a great family friend who has been fostering her since they left ("and we are forever grateful that they are helping us do so!" -Joanne).
They had faith that one of their friends, who had yet to leave South Korea, would be able to take Cali with them on a military flight. However, this has not been panning out as well as they had hoped. Not only would an individual need to get Cali attached to their flight ticket, but they would also need to secure a pet slot on the plane which is extremely limited. The only other option they have now is flying her home as cargo - which is tremendously expensive. This is where you, their friends and family, as well as others, understanding the pain of separation with a family member (furry or not) and want to help, come in.
Because of COVID-19, airlines have limited their cargo slots and much of what they do. Many airlines have even stopped accepting pets as cargo on their flights. Furthermore, due to Cali's breed, many airlines will not accept her on a flight to begin with. As COVID-19 continues to remain a part of our daily lives, many airlines and pet relocation services are not currently not offering reliable nor consistent rates - as the Moreno's have found out already themselves.
The Moreno's grew by one this past January with the birth of JJ - so on top of this new life of parenthood and caring for a baby, they cannot afford to get Cali home on their own dime and yet, cannot in their hearts, leave her in South Korea.
Please help reunite this family. Anyone who knows the Moreno's know they are not ones to openly ask for favors and that is why I am doing this. But I am just getting the story and information out there, it is up to us as a community to get Cali, and her kisses, back to her family for the holidays.
Anything, absolutely anything, counts and will help bring Cali home. The Moreno's (Cali too) will forever be grateful for your generosity, thoughts, and prayers.
