I’m Natalie Trivibulchaikul,
It’s that time in my life where I turn the page to a new chapter. I will be the first girl in my family seek a secondary education. My dad was born and raised in a small village in Thailand and came to the states when he was a teen. My mother was born in a low income family with three other sisters in El Paso, Tx. They didn’t really have the opportunity to get any type of secondary education. My parents pushed me to try and have a better future for myself, and that is exactly what I did. I joined every club and started programs at my school. Some of these extracurricular activities include: JROTC, Student Government, Art Club, Gaming Club, Robotics, Academic Decathlon, and many more. During my free time (at least once a week), I volunteered at New Horizons where I made friends with special needs adults and socialized with them during lunch and helped them work. I was awarded a few scholarships but unfortunately not enough to cover housing and other necessities.
Due to my high school accolades, I was recently accepted to Full Sail University (my dream school). Unfortunately, I was denied the PLUS loan that was supposed to help pay for all of my schooling. This means I’ll be living in an apartment out of state with no way to pay month to month. The University that I will be attending is an accelerated program which has its pros and cons. The good news is I’ll be out on the workforce two years faster than most of my high school classmates who decided to get a secondary education but this means that I cannot have any type of job. Not being able to work even a part time job makes this whole journey 100x harder. I have lived in Texas my entire life and moving to a new state (Florida) to pursue a secondary education at my dream school will be hard, but with your help I know I can do it.
Whatever you decide to donate, every bit of it helps. I want to be able to pay for a few months of rent while my dad and boyfriend try to gather money for the rest. It’s definitely going to be a rough journey but I believe it's possible to do this. I have always been a “go get em” type of girl and I am confident that this will be a good investment in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and donate if you did. Just sharing this means the world to me. I cannot stress enough how important this is for me and how grateful I am to have wonderful friends and family in my life who are willing to support me. Hopefully others will consider donating as well. This will not be something that you will regret and something that I will not take advantage of. Again, thank you very much for taking your time to read this.
