Gwen's Mom's Funeral Expenses

My co-worker, and good friend, Gwen "Lulu" Tucker lost her Mom on 6/26/16. Jannie Mae had been battling Alzheimer’s and was at Port Chester Nursing Home. Although she needed care there was no indication that she would pass any time soon.
Gwen's Mom was her world! She went to see her every day. She always sang to her, played her music, told her stories and jokes, fed her dinner and tucked her in for the night. Gwen is beyond devastated! As is everyone in her close family.
When Jannie passed there were no funds set aside for her funeral expenses. Gwen and her family had to incur the cost and nearly all of it fell on Gwen. The costs were $7500. They have not even bought the headstone yet which will cost another $1600.
They were unable to pay the costs with a credit card so Gwen took a cash advance on her credit card to cover most of the cost. Her interest rates are accumulating by the second!
Gwen would never ask anything of anyone but I want to help her with these costs as it just added more stress to her mom passing.
Anything you could do to help Gwen and her family out would be greatly appreciated!
