Governor Thomas Johnson High School was built in 1966, which is coming on almost 60 years now. As new schools have been built and received more funding, TJ’s facilities and buildings lagged behind the advances of modern technology of other schools. As students of this great school, we thought it would be awesome if despite the unprecedented school year, we can pull off something amazing for the school.
This fundraiser’s purpose is to replace TJ’s current letterboard sign with a new and updated electronic sign to become equal to its peers. Electronic signs allow the school to put out more information to anyone in the community passing by, such as important dates and upcoming events.
Along with this fundraiser, we are planning to have a 24-hour livestream to raise as much as possible for TJ, while also providing entertainment for the community to enjoy. This livestream will be broadcasted to the 24 Hours of TJ Facebook page and will feature many other students and teachers from TJ. The full schedule of events and all other updates and information will also be posted there.
We understand that our goal may be ambitious, but we believe it is a step in the right direction to build a stronger TJ community. Therefore, regardless if we reach our ultimate goal or not, all of the money donated will be given directly to the administration at Governor Thomas Johnson High School.
Please consider helping out by either donating or sharing!
Thank you so much!
