“Christopher Burrier was born in June 2003 as a healthy baby boy. He weighed 6lb 5ozs. He was hitting normal growth marks and gaining weight as a "normal" baby should. That is until about 6 weeks of age, Christopher started to turn yellow. He was referred to the Cleveland Clinic where Chris was diagnosed with a rare liver condition known as Biliary Atresia. BA is diagnoses about 300 cases a year world wide. Chris had corrective surgery know as a Kasai at 11 weeks of age. There is no cure for BA. Chris is currently waiting for a new liver via transplant. Chris is just starting the listing process on August 8th. He will be fully listed for transplant with in 15 days of the 8th. It will likely take 121 days from official listing before we get he call for a liver.”
My name is Gary Hummel and i own Post Board Gaming in Findlay Ohio where Chris comes to participate in one of his favorite pastimes of playing the Pokemon Trading Card Game, which is how i met the family and learned of Chris's story, so when we were looking to run a charity event in the community it only made sense to me that we do something to directly help out someone we know. We are holding an event on August 20th at Riverside park in Findlay Ohio to help raise additional funds to help the family with medical bills assoiciated with the upcoming transplant, any money that you donate will go directly to the family to help with those costs. We are excited for the opportunity to help out the family and anything you can do to help out is greatly appreciated and i am sure will mean a lot to the family as they navigate through this process.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
