Dear friends and family,

Many of you know and love the sweet and wise old pup Sadie. A recent visit to the vet under suspicion of a tumor confirmed my fears- she has cancer. The tumor is in a difficult to operate spot on her back leg and she will have a consultation with a surgeon. She is on medicine to attempt to shrink the tumor prior to operation and will likely need a range of expensive tests to determine the spread of cancer and the risks of operation- she already has a stage 4 heart murmur, making operation risky. Supplements and nutrition will be a primary line of defense as well. My hope is to extend her life at the best possible quality.

With a heavy heart I am starting this fundraising campaign to raise funds for diagnostics and surgery. The goal is conservative- the costs could be much higher, but at this point the treatment plan and cost is not yet clear. I may adjust the goal as things develop. Any funds will be used for treatment or eventual end-of-life care for this remarkable pup.
