HELLO CARING PEOPLE ! 
My name is Anna Kozel Roy, & this is my daughter, Jessica Rettig Ponti.  Those that know her, know the extent of love and caring in her heart. How she often takes her time to help others, whether it's volunteering for Ronald McDonald House, fighting to end Alzheimers, or even helping someone she has just met, she will " be there "! Now, she needs financial help to reach out for medical solutions, traveling to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota . With a long,  3 year struggle, we are praying that they will be able to provide the medical care and answers about a baffling , difficult medical, diagnosis and treatment.
It all began in 2013, with Jess experiencing pain and strange symptoms, with many doctors just writing it off as this or that, handing her an RX, with the promise she was fine. Eventually, she found herself at the door of a surgeon, who finally found that she had a fast growing and rare,  Desmoid, tumor in her stomach, with only 900 US citizens a year being diagnosed with it as well.  During a 5 day stay, the rare tumor was removed in Jan of 2014,  at St Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse NY, where they also removed a portion of her intestinal tract and resectioned the intestines where the tumor had grown.  And immediately following surgery, the daily bleeding began in the GI tract, and has been going on since ! 
This condition creates excruciating bouts of pain, as well as extreme anemia , causing debilitating fatigue that  requires " must have", frequent iron infusion treatments, to at least give her a little iron back.  
So far, she has had 6 colonoscopies, several endoscopes, CT angiogram, numerous MRIs, Tag Red Blood Cell scans, 2 Capsule endoscopes (camera pill ), all done in Syracuse.  With nothing discovered, off to Rochester NY,  4 times for balloon endoscopes ! 
After all these tests, seeing many doctors, surgeons & health care providers, the cause and exact location of the bleeding still remains a mystery! 
Jessica is FORTUNATE that she has a job where she has been able to build up personal leave time so it would be possible to travel to the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, and stay for the required  7 days. 
The UNFORTUNATE part is with all the past 3 years of tests, doctors' , medicines and travel,  the expensive copays and deductibles piled up and paid, in spite of having health insurance.  Now, Jess is in a position where there are not enough savings available to make this next important step to the Mayo Clinic.  Since a new surgeon, highly recommended that she make this trip to the Mayo Clinic for this next week, AUGUST 8,  she has been hesitant, but only because of the high cost of airfare and lodging that is required . She has to stay nearby for 5-7 days. We are praying that the tests they can perform there at Mayo, can create a possible procedure and/ or insight into a surgery of similar cause not known here, locally. 
Given what almost seems an impossible medical situation, and I was finally able to convince Jessica, that there are times in our lives that we need to humbly reach out and ask others for help, I 've decided that we had to start a GO FUND ME page, to help with the expenses for copays, airfare travel and lodging . If you can please help with the expenses, we would so very much appreciate it, and we hope that in the future, we will be in a position to pay it forward. 
Those that know my daughter, Jessica, know that she is a hard working, generous , kind hearted woman, that deserves one more chance to finally win this lengthy battle she's been struggling with.
