A man, my brother, a loving hard working father of 5 kids whom he lives more than life, decided to go to work early one night after watching his beloved Red Sox on TV. While in travel, he approached an accident scene on the highway and carefully slowed his approach to the area. Another driver, traveling 90 mph who did not see what my brother saw, did not slow down. The result, slamming into my brother from behind at such a high rate of speed without braking. Why? Because this driver was drunk. It was 1:30 am and where ever this person came from, whether a nightclub, bar, friends house, he was allowed to take control of his own vehicle, and almost killed my brother.
My brother has two broken bones in his back, broken ribs, many other serious upper body complications and most unfortunately, brain damage. His car rolled over multiple times from the impact. The drunk driver miraculously was able to attend his initial court hearing, walking and functioning, in a way that if he were of the same state that evening, would not have changed my brothers life forever.
My brother will never work again. He may or may not be fortunate enough to enjoy his grandchildren as he once has. His family as a result is financially destitute. We have all heard of powerful organizations such as MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivibg), very helpful organizations who help victims of such tragedy and voice a powerful message toward enforcing safer laws and greater degree of accountability. We are thankful to them. My brother needs your assistance. He is not aware of this attempt to help raise assistance for his family and he is very proud, yet he is not that same person because of this horrific incident. We would be thankful to anyone who found it in their heart to contribute anything, small or large, it doesn't matter, to help my brother continue being a living life-long provider for his family. He is a great father who makes his children the focus of his own life. I consider him to be a great guy. At least, a simple thought or prayer for him would go a long way.
I'd like to thank all who view this request and express my appreciation. Your kindness is overwhelming. Thank you.
