Ryan's Spinal Injury Healing Fund

I'm Ryan Bussey, a veteran of the United States Army, a member of a beautiful family, and a friend to all I meet. Over a year ago on July 2, 2015, I was in a motorcycle accident when I was riding to my friends house. I don't have any memories of the experience because I hit my head resulting in a traumatic brain injury -even while wearing a helmet- and was knocked unconscious leaving me in a coma for almost 2 months after the accident. I also lost vision in my right side of view, for example, if im looking at you in the left side of your face then I can't see the right side at all. I also broke my back during the wreck and suffered a spinal cord injury leaving me paralyzed from the bottom of my chest down. Another thing that has happened is that I lost most mobility in the right side of me. So when I woke up out of coma I could barely move my right arm.

I don't remember how the accident happened or what happened but I am very thankful that I am still here and I keep trying every day to do my best and bring the life back to my spinal cord. Now since I still had some movement in my right arm I had something to work with, so I constantly move it little by little. I started training it as soon as I could and even to this day it's not as strong as it was before, but I can definitely pick up weight and move it once again. Every day I am doing full leg stretches, core stretches, and upper body stretches mainly because I can't let my lower body start tightening and locking up from not being able to walk. Also I am doing workouts everyday mainly to keep my heart rate increasing so my body will keep healing. Workout routines such as back and biceps, chest and triceps, and shoulder rotator work are just a few workout combinations im constantly doing. Another thing I am doing daily is an easy standup machine that my insurance companies actually helped me obtain. The easy stand machine helps a person stand when they are unable to. I use it at least 1 time a day for 1 whole hour. Another thing I have to do to keep my heart rate up is swimming laps. It's great for a person that is paralyzed chest down to keep your body moving and blood flowing. Also breathing exercises to keep my lungs strengthened and large. And meditation to keep my mind focused on the goals of healing!

The main reason I'm asking for help saving so much money is because I've learned about stem cells and what they can do, and insurance companies do not fund stem cell therapy. It is not allowed to use stem cells from another person in the US, only from yourself. However the best source of stem cells comes from donated placental stem cells located in the umbilical cord after birth. The donated umbilical cord has more stem cells and is more benefical for healing wounds than any other source of stem cells. You can get this type of stem cell thearapy anywhere in the world from clinics in countries such as China, Australia, Europe, Mexico, Canada, and Panama. . except in the US. Like I said earlier, in the US it is only legal to use stem cells from yourself. Here in the US after child birth they have to throw away the umbilical cords because they can't use it on another person due to it being against the law. I have done a lot of research on stem cell companies that can heal spinal cord injuries, and one of the most reputable clinics for healing spinal cord injuries is the Stem Cell Institute in Panama. The Stem Cell Institute, offers the best treatment housing you as a patient for 4 weeks while administering 16 different stem cell injections (some in your spinal column, lumbar, and IV) throughout the whole time, with 12 physical therapy sessions.  I have included their website and contact information after the biography so you can check out, "The Stem Cell Institute," if you would like to get a feel for the program I am going to attend. If contact them they can connect you with other patients who've recovered from spinal cord injuries with new age stem cell therapy so you can learn first hand how they are working miracles in modern healing. The only problem is that the treatment costs 37,200.00 dollars. .  :(

I've done so much research, heard of all the amazing facts of healing spinal cord injury, and spoke with other recovered patients from recieving treatment at Stem Cell Institute. Now I am confident enough to know that after healing from this treatment then I can bring this topic to life and show everyone in America how stem cells can heal a person thats paralyzed! We need to have this issue brought to life! Because, as far as my research has shown, stem cell therapy for spinal cord injury has only been happening since 2007. It hasn't honestly been researched or administered long enough for people to realise that there is a treatment, so I'm going to spread the word. The more this therapy becomes prevalent in America, the better the future of spinal cord injury victims will be and that is good for us all because you never know when life will happen, and it does happen to the best of us. Its not like I woke up one day and knew I was going to wreck my motorcycle, and I considered myself a cautious attentive rider. Once I heal, I'm going to go tour as many hospitals with spinal cord injury patients as I possibly can and spread the good news that getting treatment and healing spinal cord injury is possible! The American people need to know about what stem cells can do for us medically and how we can utilize them to treat and help patients suffering from a wide array of illnesses and injuries. Another reason I want to do this is because since the accident I have had a lot more passion for people with injuries than I ever had in my life and want to help them by using my passion for physical fitness. I have always been into working out even before I joined the Army, I worked at a gym for years which lead me to this lifestyle wherein I have over the years become very experienced in the field of health and wellness. This knowledge and understanding has helped me in this unfortunate time in my life so much, that I want to share it with other injured people to keep them on the right path to recovery.

After asking the "Stem Cell Institute" if they could lower the price for me, in any way, they told me about GoFundMe and said there are very generous people out there who are willing and able to help. Since the wreck I've been living with my parents. Both of my parents are retired with fixed income and they don't make enough to fund my therapy. If I had enough money then I wouldn't even be on here asking for help. If you can not help it is completely understandable as these are hard times. But compassion will save this world, and should you be able to share any amount at all, I plan on paying it forward times 100 and showing everybody what a person driven by compassion, and motivated to help, can do for this world.

Thank you so very very much for taking the time to hear my story.

All my love to you and yours,
Ryan Bussey
