My name is Jana Dougan, and I am officially stuck in Boise, Idaho. Last week I began my journey north from Santa Cruz, CA, trying to get back to my hometown of Canmore in the Canadian Rockies. I was driving with a dear friend Stacy, when all of a sudden we started experiencing car troubles. Before I left, I had my car fully serviced, had 2 new tires put on, and was told my car was in great shape to make the trip to Canada. Well, 86 miles from Winnemucca, NV a sensor malfunctioned and threw the car into 4-low.....while doing 80mph down the highway. After getting towed to Winnemucca and spending the night, a mechanic was able to get everything up and running again, or so we thought. We hit the highway to Boise, and came within 30 miles when the car died again. At the Kia dealership they were able to fix the sensor, but unfortunately the transmission was jammed in gear and needed to be replaced. So, I have been patiently waiting since Tuesday in a hotel for them to finish, but every day that goes by, my funds are dwindling. I was supposed to be a vendor at a Folk Festival this weekend in Canada, which was going to offset the cost of moving, and obviously can't do that now. The transmission is $2394.00, and I still need to drive the rest of the way home. I have received an outpouring of love, and generosity, and have a hard time asking for help. I'm not sure how I'll get home without asking for some assistance through Gofundme. I'm incredibly grateful for any and all help! Thank you!!!
