On August 14, Tara and Morgan will fly out to Salt Lake City to help Tara’s brother Scott who lives in Lehi, Utah.

Scott, who is in his late 50s, had Leukemia over 10 years ago. Thankfully, he is in remission, but the chemo treatments he endured damaged his kidneys, and for the past three years has been on dialysis. Every other day he travels from Lehi, UT to the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, for dialysis. The trek to the hospital is at least 45 minutes each way and the procedure takes a minimum of five hours. Scott has not able to work due to the time commitments of dialysis; without dialysis he would not survive.

Tara, who we all know has an incredible spirit of generosity, will donate a kidney to her brother on August 16. Morgan will be traveling with her. Tara will spend approximately one week in the hospital. They plan to return home to Oregon on August 25.
