A friend to all of us and a guy that would do anything for anyone, Manny Mannino was involved in a motorcycle accident on October 8th.
He was struck by a young woman who was texting on her phone when she should have been paying attention to the road. Manny was ejected from his motorcycle and in his words, "felt my whole body doing somersaults airborn". His quick thinking may have saved his life. He was not wearing a helmet so he wrapped one arm around his head and the other to help "soften the fall". Luckily, there was no damage to his head but his shoulders, arms and legs are in bad shape. He has had some surgery so far that placed pins and plates to help the bones heal. After they heal the remaining surgeries will be addressed.
MANNY HAS NO HEALTH INSURANCE.
Manny is also self employed. If he is unable to get up and go to work, he can not bring any income into the home. Aside from the normal expenses like rent, food utility bills and more, he now has the added expense of medical care from the accident and future cost as a result.
To add insult to injury, Manny's truck that was used for work and rainy days is no longer running and not fixable and his motorcycle is demolished! Now, he no longer has a vehicle to get to to and from doctors appointments and other day to day needs. Although he has great support from friends and family to get to where he needs to be, being stuck without a vehicle adds insult to inury.
The stress and anxiety from all these expenses should be the last of Mannys worries. We have began this fundraiser to help Manny cover some of these cost. Every dollar counts. No donation is to small. If you are unable to donate, please keep Manny in your prayers for a fast and pain-free recovery.
