On Sunday July 24th, 2016 Rich Maisano was involved in a severe plane crash that no pilot ever wishes to experience. With over 1000+ landings and hundreds of flight hours to his credit, there is always the unforeseen and unpredictable that every pilot must be prepared to face. Rich made quick and life saving corrections in trying to land his plane, however at only 150 feet off the ground from landing the end result seemed textbook predictable.
However, Rich's outcome was nothing less than miraculous, as God was with him that day and he is alive! After crawling from the crash himself and being rushed to the hospital it was clear his injuries were severe. Sustaining a shattered femur and foot on his right side, broken tibia, broken Ulna in arm, broken hand and wrist all on his right side along with a broken left foot, hundreds of lacerations, and plastic surgery to his face and chin it is a miracle that Rich did not suffer any brain damage, spinal injuries, or internal injuries to any organs partical due to the safety features designed into the aircraft. His wounds will heal with time and therapy and the doctors are soon to release him from Neenah, Wisconsin to an in-house rehab facility in Lancaster that will be his home for the next 8-10 weeks with in-home care afterwards.
Rich knows he has a long road ahead of him before he can be back to any semblance of normal life, but he is extremely thankful to be alive. His family has set up this go-fund-me account as a place for friends and family to provide any assistance they wish in covering some of Rich's medical expenses over the course of his recovery.
Rich truly loves what he does for a living however, due to the nature of his career serving as an in independent consultant, a financial burden will be felt as he progresses through his rehabilitation to cover the many medical expenses that have and will arise. Rich wants to thank everybody for all the support that has been provided thus far and he is looking forward to speaking with family and friends again as time permits through this trying time. Thank you so much again.
