Blue is our 6 month old Great Pyrenees/Hound mix. He is a sweet boy who loves cuddles on the couch, annoying his feline siblings, and, unfortunately, eating everything in sight!
On Friday morning, Blue started throwing up and refusing to eat (if anyone knows Blue, you know that that’s SUPER not like him). Suspecting something was not right, we took him to Metropolitan animal hospital right away where he received lots of imaging. They suspect he has an intestinal obstruction from some sort of cloth-like material (I bet it’s a sock).
After spending more than 24 hours in the hospital with no signs of improvement or any movement in his digestive system, our next steps are to go ahead with surgery. The doctors will perform an exploratory surgery throughout his stomach and small intestine, hopefully finding the obstruction that is causing so much pain.
Funds will go towards paying for his surgery and hospitalization, which is estimated to be around $7,000 dollars. Any extra funds will be donated to the Metropolitan Animal Hospital and PBSF dog rescue, the wonderful rescue organization where we adopted Blue from.
