"Help three independent artists create a new performance installation in a unique location."

Hi! My name is Zeus Bennet and I make art about time and cycles. I try to make things that blow your pants off in a way you never saw coming. I’ve been an artist for most of my life. The only time I wasn’t was the 7 years I spent as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps. In April of 2021 I put on my first large-scale show, called The Loop Project. I produced and funded the show myself, and with the help of a lot of awesome people, it worked. I think the people who came walked away with something they had not known to hope for when they arrived.

Which is why we’re here. I’ve enlisted two incredible artists to do another, bigger, crazier show at a unique location in northwest Connecticut.

The first new-join is poet Scott Ratliff. Scott writes damn good poems. He does this trick where you think you’re reading the Giving Tree and you end up in the gutter with Bukowski and on the astral plane with a gang of grinning Zen masters and you have no idea how you got there. It’s really special.

The second is performance artist Vemilo. Vemilo creates bracing (read: full body orgasm) moments of freedom and exhilaration for his audience. Find yourself in his thrall and you’ll see people of every age, gender, race and creed doing coordinated, symbolic dance moves until they toddler-walk away in an electric haze of veil-piercing countercultural freedom and acceptance.

By our powers combined, the three of us have set out to make something deep, fun and unique:

KRONOS.

KRONOS is a performance installation on April 20, 2024 in Northwest Connecticut that explores the creative and destructive aspects of Time. Kronos, King of Time, presided over the universe until the Olympians defeated the Titans and imprisoned Kronos in the depths of Tartarus, damned to count every second of eternity.

The evening will take place in two parts. Part One will feature an outdoor showing of Zeus’ film: Time Will Help Us Forever. Part Two will feature an indoor performance piece that is the result of the collaboration between Vemilo, Scott and Zeus.

Help us make some great independent art.

It’s really, really expensive to make art. All three of us have funded our own projects and have been satisfied just to make them. I spent $13,000 of my own money to produce The Loop Project, saved from my time working for ole’ Uncle Sam. I’ve already invested $7,000 into Kronos.

And yet: it’s tough out there in the streets. All three of us have yet to achieve financial self-sufficiency through art alone. There are no roadmaps for doing what the three of us are trying to do. So here’s our ask:

Support this project and come on this journey with us. In return, we will make something for you that you’ve never seen and never heard. Our world is full of ideas and perspectives that feel strangely familiar, but we need voices with unique points of view. We need voices who tell us unfamiliar things.

Support this project, and we will make something that surprises you.
This campaign would start us down the road to financial self-sufficiency with a full tank of gas (or a full charge, for you Tesla lovers.) If this campaign is successful, the costs to bring it to life will be taken care of, and any profits we earn can go directly toward future projects.
