Hello, Friends and Family.
As most of you all know myself, my brother, my sister and my beloved family members, lost the life of my mother, Cheryl Ann Goodger on the 21st of May 2014.
On the 15th of May, Mum was admitted into Wyong hospital and unfortunately had developed what is known as Cirrhosis of the liver, which is a slowly progressing disease in which healthy liver tissue is replaced with scar tissue, eventually preventing the liver from functioning properly. The scar tissue blocks the flow of blood through the liver and slows the processing of nutrients, hormones, drugs, and naturally produced toxins. This therefore caused her body to shut down, however she spent just over a week fighting in hospital. The doctors had told myself and my 2 siblings that the only thing that was keeping her alive at this point was her strong heart. This was a tragic time for myself and all family members. We had my older sister Shae running around like crazy driving myself and younger brother Jayden to the hospital each and everyday. We also had the strength and support of My Aunty, Uncle, two cousins, and Nan, who had flown down from Queensland during this hard time, and also the overwhelming support of other family members and friends.
On the 21st of May 2014 at 8pm, Mum had taken her final breath and flew away with the angels. Words cannot begin to describe the impact this had on our family, however we will be forever grateful for the staff at Wyong hospital that helped care for mum, and also our family during this hard time. On the night mum passed a Nurse approached us and said:
"I opened the window, so that your mothers soul could fly free". I will always remember that nurse.
Since Mum's passing my sister, brother and myself have struggled to come up with the money to be able to get a plaque placement made at Wamberal cemetery so that mum can be close to the beach again, which is something she loved most.
I ask now friends and family for any donations that you can spare, to help us achieve our goal. We mainly just want somewhere for mums soul to rest and somewhere we can visit when any of us are feeling down, and be able to talk to her and feel at peace. We will be forever thankful for all your kindness and generosity.
I thank you all for taking the time out to read this.
Thanks,
Amber :)
