Tripp Lasseters Road to Recovery

I want to share this very heart wrenching story of my best friends 6 year old son. I say best friend but they are way more than that to me they are truly family. This has been going on for about a month now, Tripp started running a fever so his parents took him to Dr. he was treated with antibiotics for strep throat. Then after antibiotics he kept running low grade fever became very lethargic and also very pale. So the parents took him to a different Dr. And after quiet a few tests they diagnosed him with Mono. During this time he also had developed anemia which they were told to give him vitamins with iron so they did. He actually quit running fever for about a week so they thought he was over the mono and then out of the blue again an even higher fever starts with chest pain leg pain and headaches.So this past Monday he was taken to the ER and Dr did Cat Scan and found mass on adrenal gland so they sent him by ambulance to Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta and were then told he has a childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma. This morning they did a biopsy and a bone marrow test to see what stage he has. The Dr. does know that it is a tumor that is above the kidney extending behind chest and has wrapped itself around his aorta but has not affected his heart.This page was created due to the overwhelming support for this child and family to keep everyone updated. The family would truly appreciate all prayers,support,encouraging words or similar cases. I hate to even put a $ goal on this page because prayers and support are way more valuable but it is required to do this. They also just had a baby girl that is 4 weeks old. They don't know what challenge is ahead of them but know that God is in control and trust that he will take care of their sweet little boy. I know this could get very costly thank God they do have health insurance but I know neither one of them want to leave their child. This is a very close family and are very supportive but please if you can help in any way it would be greatly appreciated.I will keep everyone updated as soon as we know more. I truly believe everyone is still in shock I know I am. Thank you all for prayers and support. It means so much to this family.
