Hi, My name is John. Some of my family call me Michael. My middle name. I was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico but live in Albuquerque/Rio Rancho, New Mexico. As most people believe you think something such as a cancer diagnosis and everything that goes along with the diagnosis or any diagnosis of this magnitude won't happen to me! Well, it did. I have esophageal cancer. You are in for a shock of your life if it does happen to you! The word cancer itself is a scary word. The medical profession begans your treatment quickly so you have no time to prepare yourself for what is ahead for you. Here comes the Drs. visits, the CT scans, PETA scans, blood work, chemotherapy. I could go on and on. Plus you don't feel well but you still have to go to work. Who's going to pay the bills and the medical bills on top of that? People ask or wonder why such an exhorberant amount. Well, all I can say is I don't know want the future holds. My treatment plan changes every week for medical reasons. Also, what if there are any complications with my surgery? Cancer is so unpredictable. The surgery itself is a major surgery. I want to use my sick leave every day but I am saving it for my recovery & days when working & the chemo are too much to handle physically. Also, yes , I have to have surgery which will put me out of work two months which means I will run out of leave by then. I cannot work overtime anymore either. Everything changed. I am hoping people will read my story and relate. Life goes on regardless of your illness. I will use the money to pay bills, medical bills and everyday living expenses. I could use money now because I am falling behind already. I am humbled to ask for help. Any amount isn't too small. Whatever is in your heart. I have worked very hard all my life to provide for my family and I am use to taking care of myself and my family but cancer stopped that. I will be forever grateful for any amount you can offer. Also, any amount left over I will pay it forward. Thank you for reading my story and I will beat this cancer!
