Konner Johnson was born on March 8, 2016 he has always been the happiest baby always smiling and he just started to laugh. Konner has filled our hearts with an abundance of love and happiness he has brought into our life since he was born. On July 4, 2016 at 7:18 p.m Konner Johnson went into cardiac arrest. Konner was unresponsive with no pulse or breathing. When I received the call my grandson was not breathing I was atleast seven minutes away from my daughters apartment. I rushed to his side and immediatly performed CPR while my lower body trembled cause I have seen this look many times working in EMS. When I seen Konner I thought his soul already left his body and it was a shell I was holding. I am thankful that I am an EMT and have the knowledge of CPR. Hardest experience of my life ever was performing CPR on my own grandchild. Knowing that Konners life is in your hands is the most emotional experience ever.Konner began agonal respirations and when I heard the ambulance was on scene I ran with Konner tightly snuggled his lifeless body to mine to the ambulance. The paramedic placed Konner on the EKG he had no pulse. they began CPR on him and got a pulse and shallow respirations. Konner was transported to the local hospital and life flighted to Texas Childrens Hospital. Konner suffered a stroke, bleeding in his brain, he has a blood clot and multiple seizures. The saddest part and most devastating is a Neurologist informing his mom whom is my daughter that Konner has severe brain damage. After 7 days of an emotional roller coaster my daughter and myself spent every second with Konner. We would sing to him, read him books, listen to Christian music, and talk to him. Konner finally was stable to be moved to a less critical floor at Texas Childrens Hospital . Konner spent the next 7 days on this floor and progressed everyday. Konner takes two shots everyday of a blood thinner called Lovenox to help reslove his blood clot. The blood clot cannot be surgically removed hence it could be fatal. Konner will have many CT scans to see if the clot is dissolving. Konner is finally released after 14 days at the hospital. His mother Madison never leaving his side or giving up hope. The team of doctors at Texas Childrens Hospital informed my daughter and myself to be prepared for a child with disabilities. We pray everyday for GOD to heal Konner. Konner requires extensive medical care and numerous doctor appointments that my daughter has to travel an hour or more too. Konners visit require to see and occupational therapist, physical therapist, Neurologist, Hematologist, Ophthalmologist, Child Developmental Doctors. Konners extensive medical care is very costly and whatever donation to help Konner and my amazing strong daughter out would be forever grateful.
