My name is Carol Scholz and I am a teacher of the visually impaired for the Boise School District and I would like to introduce my student Madison! Madison is a lovely girl and is entering the 6th grade. In spite of her diagnosis of cone rod dystrophy which has caused her to become legally blind, sensitive to light and limits her peripheral vision she works hard and is making good progress in school. Madison requires magnifyers, large print and uses assistive technology at school to complete her classwork. She loves life and her family! Madison has recently been evaluated for special telescopic lenses which can be mounted into a pair of purple tinted glasses. These new glasses will improve her vision dramatically! She will be able to see 50% better and have much less sensitivity to the sun! They will also enalbe her to travel more safely as they will bring distance objects and obstacles into focus. These glasses are not covered at all by insurance costing $1,615 plus $100 taxes. They are very costly and well beyond the financial means of most families and particularly difficult because Madison's mother is a devoted, hardworking single mother. Hopefully this fund will pay for the telescopic bioptic lenses mounted in tinted glasses in full. All funds are accessible only by Madison's mother and only for the glasses. Your generous donation will help her to see, play, learn and enjoy life to its fullest! We take our vision for granted but Madison has struggled valiently with her vision throughout her childhood! Please contribute and help to restore Madison's vision. Give her the gift of sight helping her to see a whole new world of opportunities! Thank you for helping this very deserving young lady to literally have a brighter future!
