This feeling over this request is a double edged sword. 1- If you know our family at all. we are not folks to ask for help. We are self sustaining individuals that are often the givers to others. 2- There is nothing that would stop one of us from helping family so I didn't flinch at the idea of creating this page for my brother, Aaron Fratto.
November of 2015 my brother was side swiped by a vehicle while driving to work. He was hit by an uninsured driver. He has been dealing with a torn shoulder and other long term rehab injuries. Recently, while walking his dog, he collapsed with excrutiating pain in his back. Unable to walk he pulled himself back to his apartment. He has been in excruciating
pain ever since, unable to stand for long and impossible to drive or sit.
Through an urgent MRI he found out that he had a severely ruptured disc with disc fragments into the nerves of his back. This, a result of the impact from his accident. After months of insurance nonsense, and mismanaged care from the insurance provider things are now moving quickly and he has a surgery scheduled in 2 weeks. He has been out of work for 3 weeks now (several days in between for doctor appts, therapy, etc) and will be for the next 45 while he recovers from surgery.
Here is where we need your help. These are the events in life that can cripple you financially. They can wipe out your medical coverage, if you have caps like my brother does. And, the deductible and surgical costs are through the roof. His MRI was 2k alone...and he's had 3 so far! For those that have great insurance and Short Term Disability....we are the lucky ones. But then there are the rest. Those that one week off work is enough to make you homeless. This is the world my brother lives in.
Through this request, I am asking for your kindness and generosity to assist my brother in the next few weeks as he endures surgery and no way to pay bills and medical expenses. The money you so kindly donate will be used solely for the purpose of buying a few groceries, paying rent and allowing to pay the urgent medical bills to make his surgery happen.
For those that know my brother, he is an incredible human. He is kind, funny and would give the shirt off his back. He is also one that has had great struggle in life. The past few months have been beyond tough for him and I am hoping we can all band together and make this road just a little brighter for him. Your grattitude and generosity will mean the world to me and my entire family. I will personally manage the funds during this process and I can guarantee monies spent will only be done for the most urgent needs.
