Hi, my name is Pauline Cousins. I’m originally from Black River, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, but I now live in London. I’m raising funds for my nephew, Roderick, who lives in Black River and whose life was turned upside down by Hurricane Melissa.
When the hurricane hit on October 28, 2025, the house he lived in was completely flattened. In one night, he lost everything, his home, his belongings, and his sense of security.
Since the storm, Roderick has been living in his car, trying to stay safe and find a way forward. He’s been through so much, and without family nearby to help him rebuild, it’s been incredibly difficult. Despite it all, he continues to show quiet strength and resilience every day.
This fundraiser is to help him find a safe place to live, replace the essentials he lost, and begin rebuilding his life from the ground up. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping him regain stability, comfort, and hope.
Sometimes, all a person needs is to know they’re not alone, that there are people who care. I want Roderick to feel that love and support from this community.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign. Together, we can help him take the first steps toward healing and rebuilding after losing everything.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your kindness and compassion.
