Deana's Arnold-Gomez Cancer Fight

Donation protected
On July 20, 2016 my daughter Deana Arnold Gomez was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma otherwise known as Breast Cancer, words no parent ever wants to hear. She is only 30 years old and the mother of two young children 5 and 8 and has only been married to her longtime boyfriend for 6 months. When she found out she had Breast Cancer it was the most devastating news we had ever received. She is an amazing and driven person, a wonderful mother and has accomplished so much already in life it is unthinkable to think that after all that she has done in her life and how hard she has worked to be where she is today that it could all be taken away now.

Many things ran through her mind like will she live to see her children have children, she hasn't finished living yet, where did this come from, is she going to die. Usually when you hear the word Cancer you automatically think death because it seems to be the number one killer.

On August 29th she is going to have a Bilateral Mastectomy with Reconstruction which is the removal of both breasts with preparation for DIEP Flap Replacement. We are unsure if she will have to do Chemo at the moment because the Doctors have to wait until surgery to check her Lymph Nodes to see if Cancerous Cells are present in them, however because of her age we have been told that Chemo is a strong possibility and more than likely will be required as part of her treatment. She will also require another major reconstruction surgery in the coming months and at least two smaller reconnection surgeries.

Anyone who knows my daughter knows that she is very independent person that doesn't like to ask for help, and until now never has had to, she has always taken care of herself and put herself through undergraduate and graduate school. But this time she cannot figure it out herself and needs help.

I created this GoFundMe page to help me with her medical expenses. Due to her operations and treatment she will have to miss work and while she has short term disability it will only pay her a portion of her wages. Thank God she had health insurance through her job which will cover a lot of her medical weight but unfortunately has high deductibles and out of pocket max. To make matters worse her insurance benefit year resets on October 1 and she will again have to reach her deductibles and out of pocket max. Her treatment over the next few months will total 20-24 thousand dollars.

We appreciate all the donations Big and Small. We also appreciate everyone that takes the time out of there day to read her story and the prayers for her and her family. Cancer can happen to anyone at any time it doesn't even have to run in your family anymore. Please pay attention to your bodies it tells you everything you need to know. If it wasn't for her happening to notice a bump on her breast who knows how long she would have been living with this deadly disease in her body with no symptoms no nothing.

Thanks again for stopping by, your prayers and donations. God Bless!
