Dear Friends,

Approximately three years ago I got a spider bite from a brown recluse spider.  My left foot became infected.  While I was seeking treatment for my foot,  I was also diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.  I had to have surgery on my left foot and my big toe had to be amputated.  Subsequently I contracted a serious bone infection called osteomylites.  I moved back to California from Tennessee in August of last year and I am living with my sister Jane.  I sought additional treatment here in Santa Monica and had to have another surgery on my left foot to remove the infected bone.  Also in between the surgeries I was hospitalized for a week and on intravenous antibiotics for 3 months.  If that were not enough, one month ago I fell in a parking lot and broke my left arm, the upper humurous bone.  It's fractured in two places.  I have Medicare insurance but it does not cover everything.  I need a plastic sleeve to heal my arm properly and the insurance will not cover it.   That alone costs $1,000.   And I also will need money to cover rehabilitation therapy and diabetic medication, among other things.  I am living on a fixed income and my medical bills have mounted to the point where I am unable to pay for them.  The money that I raise will help me get the sleeve necessary to heal my arm, and help pay my medical bills so I can continue to live a productive life, which is my deepest desire.  Any amount that you could send my way would be so deeply appreciated.  I wasn't going to do this because I have a hard time asking for help, but my sisters and my close friends,  said I should really do this.  I do need help right now.   Again, you have no idea how grateful I would be for any aid you can give.  Peace and Love, Scott
