Stephanie Ross's Emergency Medical

Friends, I am writing today to tell you about my friend Stephanie Ross.  I met Stephanie back in 2011 at work and became friends.  It’s hard not become friend with Stephanie.  She’s bright, sweet and funny.

In 2013, she moved to Seattle to start the next chapter of her life.  Our paths crossed again in 2015 when I moved to Seattle too.

Shortly after reconnecting, Stephanie began complaining of stomachaches.  They were severe, so severe that they landed her in the emergency room at the local hospital.

It was in this ER that she was given her first dose of Fluoroquinolone Antibiotics.  These are better known by names like Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, Noroxin, and Floxin.

The stomachaches continued, and so did the rounds of antibiotic treatments.  Here’s where things went awry. The stomachaches continued but now Stephanie was starting to develop other symptoms.

Those symptoms include: facial ticks, loss of muscle control in her face, speech impediments.  The symptoms have progressed into reactions that can be compared to Bell’s Palsy, Turret’s syndrome and Epilepsy combined.

How did this happen? Fluoroquinolones should not be taken often. Stephanie was not made aware of this. Stephanie was prescribed 5 rounds of these antibiotics in the span of a few months. Most people die from fewer rounds.

Needless to say, this has destroyed my dear friend’s life.  Her episodes are so bad now that she suffers attacks that last 30 minutes at a time. Imagine being trapped in your body, fully conscious of what is going on, yet completely paralyzed and unable to move or cry out for help.

Her former employer has allowed her to keep her medical insurance for $165 a month, but she did lose her job. She has no income right now because her disability claim was denied.  The reason for the denial is that no doctor is willing to diagnose her with Fluoroquinolone Toxicity.  If they do, they can be subpoenaed to testify against the drug manufacturers.

Below is a short video from Stephanie. It shows how severe things are.

She has no income, no family, and is trying to keep paying for her medical insurance, keep food on the table and a roof over her head. The situation is dire.

There are also additional medical tests that she can pay for that could help obtain a definitive medical diagnosis, as well as medical treatments that can provide her some relief from her excruciating pain.

Stephanie has an immediate need for $8,000 to keep her apartment and get caught up on bills. I know we can do better than this.  Please help blow past this goal.

Please help by donating to Stephanie and/or spreading this GoFundMe to your friends.
